Description:

This nice chromolithograph was printed in Kaiserlalutern, Germany in 1893. It is from "Pflanzenbuch Illsutriertes" "Book of Plants Illustrated - A Manual of Practical Knowledge of Plants and Herbs etc. by Dr, Wilhelm Medicus PhD. The page size is 5 x 7.75 inches.  The image area is 3 7/8" X 6 3/8". The scientific & German common name/names of the plant/plants are printed next to each image on the plate. Excellent lithography on nice, somewhat thick paper stock. No text available. Each sheet was glued to a sheet of paper for binding and that sheet was then bound into the book. Most, but not all, of the prints will have some residue from the binding paper about 0.25" wide running from top to bottom glued onto the back. Print is in very good or better condition. The print has age toning to the margin areas. No foxing or staining that I can see unless mentioned. Parts of printed image highlighted by gum arabic. Small smudge of dirt in upper left margin corner. Lower left margin corner has a fold crease. Blank verso.
